Though the album didn’t live up to my expectation, there’s no stopping Cults as the year’s break-out act, hipstersdom be damned. Go Outside, last year’s introduction to Cults, is as fun and breezy as the title would suggest, and they got a clever video (running for video-of-the-year? yes!) to go with it, too.
I know it’s already 2011 - but better late than never? I’m going to break it down to the following sets: 5 mini EPs, 10 videos, 25 albums, 50 refixes/covers, and 100 tracks. Some new artists put out exceptional work this past year, but it would be kinda unfair to lump them in with those with full albums. I’m all about fierce equality. For this first post, I will list my favourite EPs with 6 or less number of tracks (which would make roughly half a regular album). Let’s do this.
