06. Trust issues (Drake cover) by The Weeknd
Drake+The Weeknd = new JayZ+Kanye? My theory anyhow. On that score, The Weeknd’s melodramatic take on Drake’s single outshone the latter in my bleeding heart.
The cover appears … somewhere on The Weeknd’s soundcloud. The original appeared on Drake’s October’s Very Own blog.

07. Hang with me (Robyn/Paola Bruna cover) by JOYWAVE
Gave me the chills, literally. Not the “my tongue is burning up” feverish kind, but the “this is a-ma-ZING!@!” kind. I’m sorry Robyn, but Joywave did it better. Did you know that they used Robyn’s voice as an instrument on this track? I didn’t either. But the internet says so, it must be true. Did you also know that the song wasn’t even first recorded by Robyn and therefore can not be a Robyn’s cover? I didn’t either. But lookee here: Paola Bruna did it first (Note to website linked: I hate your black background with a passion)! The things you learn when you click on links.
The cover appears to float somewhere on youtube, and the original appeared on Robyn’s Body Talk (Pt. 1 & 2, 2010) and Paola Bruna’s Stockcity girl (2003).

09. Raining in my heart (Buddy Holly cover) by Graham Nash
Probably the closest to the original Buddy Holly recording without sounding exactly just like it. I love this song a bunch.
The cover appears on Rave on Buddy Holly (2011). The original was released as a single in 1959.

10. Immigrant song (Led Zeppelin cover) by Karen O, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross
The urgency, it’s INTENSE. The combo of the talents involved here is more than enough to do the Led Zeppelin classic justice.
The cover appears on the soundtrack accompanying David Finch’s remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011). The original appeared on Led Zeppelin III (1970).
